Sustainable development is at the centre of many issues in society today. The concerning changes documented by scientific research, both regarding the climate and the living world and biodiversity, require strong mobilization to respond to them. As a university focused on humanities and social sciences, Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University, building on the institution’s historical strengths such as its multidisciplinary approach and its long-standing expertise in environmental humanities, has included these issues among the priorities of its institutional project.
The university’s sustainable development commitment is based, on the one hand, on several degree programs dedicated to different aspects of sustainability, with a growing number of programs over the years, and on the other hand on active research laboratories working on these topics. Many theses and publications contribute to this body of knowledge and expertise.
This commitment to action has led the university to organize its approach around several main areas of action.
Action Area 1: the DD&RS certification
